Army Motors was published originally by the Quartermaster Motor Transport School in Maryland in 1940. Training recruits in the 'new fangled' vehicles was of prime importance as vehicle readiness directly affected unit mobility. So Army Motors was created. Initially in a 'handout' format, then later into a full blown magazine format with sometimes more that 60 pages. As the Military's inventory of vehicles grew and orginizational changes were made, the Ordinance Department was created and continued the magazine. To this day the concept is still in use, PS Magazine is the offspring of the original Army Motors. Connie Rod has aged very well. |

IN ORDER TO DOWNLOAD THE FULL ISSUE, YOU MUST HAVE AN ACCOUNT CREATED THROUGH THE FORUM REGISTRATION PAGE. YOU MUST ALSO HAVE MADE 5 MODERATED POSTS. To Download the PDF file, click on the cover and enter your forum username and password. This is to prevent linking to the rather large PDF files. Each file is approximately 18Mb. If you have a copy of Army Motors not listed here, PLEASE let me know how I can get a copy of it if possible. Basically I need all of 1941, 1942 and 1943. For any problems, e-mail [email protected] If you would like to purchase a CD of all of the current Army Motors issues I have for download, plus the TM's referenced in the 'Technical Publications' section the cost is $15 (that includes shipping for US addresses). APO/FPO and non-USA addresses will be determined individually. Funds will go to the cost of this web site and for purchasing additional copies of Army Motors to complete the set. If you are currently serving in the Military (any branch, Reserves, Guard or Retired) I will send you a CD for the cost of shipping alone. Please send a copy of your current ID or a DD-214 (make sure you blank out and sensitive info.. basically I need to see a face, a name, and dates). I have purchased/contributed 8 months of Army Motors. I would like to thank the other creators of these PDF files, I believe it was a Florida MV club. If you recoginize these PDFs, please let me know who took the time to scan them so I may give credit for their great work. |
